Hotelympia is Open!

This special Leap Year day has finally come around, signalling the opening of Hotelympia as well. The show is located at the Excel, London and this will run from today until Thursday. Get ready because this year is expected to be bigger and better than ever!

Hotelympia Opens next Week!

The 29th of February is not only an extra day for 2016, it is also the start of Hotelympia held at the ExCel, London. This is a 3-day event that ends on 3 March and runs from 10.00am - 5.30am every day.
If you are visiting on any of those days, you can find the La Cimbali UK team at Stand 1440. You can find a comprehensive range of equipment that will all deliver a consistently good cup of coffee. The machines at the stand have an extensive range and this includes the traditional espresso machines through to the superautomatics--all designed for to meet the varying needs of the market.
Of course, the focus at the La Cimbali stand at Hotelympia is the launch of the S30 coffee machine with its IoT technology. The S30 with its Touch Revolution is a new generation of ‘super smart’ superautomatics that optimise the beverage offering, and feature future proof technology that provides a powerful management information system whilst delivering exceptional coffee quality.   At the heart of the machine is the touch screen display intuitive graphic interface with integral cloud-based network connectivity for the two-way exchange data.

Avoid Paying High Sugar Tax, Buy an Espresso

There is an increasing concern with obesity in the UK. More and more children are falling into this category due to a lot of factors; one of them, the amount of sugar that they take. This is why the Government of UK has created the sugar tax.
Finally, the sugar tax is expected to be published this month. The UK Government in England has waited long enough to publish its obesity strategy, which has been in the pipeline for some time now. It was originally to be published in Autumn 2015.
At the heart of this debate is the ongoing topic of sugar tax. Health experts have been debating for a long time for it to be introduced, with the government advisory body – Public Health England, also putting a case forward for it.
The target is mainly children who consume three times as much sugar as they are supposed to. The results of this habit of children have shown that one in five children is obese by the time they finish primary school, and one in three classed as overweight.
Even though the target of this new law is children, of course, adults will also be affected. With a proposed cost increase of up to 20% on sugar-loaded food and drinks, drinking an espresso could be the healthy and cheaper option.
In the UK, the average person consumes 12 teaspoons of sugar each day with some adults consuming as much as 46! With 1 teaspoon amounting to approximately 5 grams of sugar, every time you drink a can of fizzy pop or glass of fruit juice you could be consuming up to 35 grams or 7 teaspoons alone!
When you choose black coffee or an espresso, you not only save, you are also choosing the healthy low, no-calorie option alternative because what increases the calories are the milk and sugar that is added to sweeten your coffee. A quality espresso can be hard to find, but when you do, it is usually produced by fine ground roasted coffee beans, good quality equipment, water, temperature, pressure and storage factors. Whether you purchase from a skilled barista or make your own espressos, each time you will doing a little bit to help both your body and your pocket!
By drinking espressos, you won’t just save on calories and cost, but you will also be helping to reduce your future risk of suffering from diabetes, heart disease and cancer too.

La Cimbali UK Support the Pub16 Show

The Pub16 show starts in less than a week. It is the only show dedicated for the UK Pub industry. This event is where the pub industry will be celebrating trends, products, innovations, people and services. It also brings together entrepreneurs, key trade associations, key decision makers, business leaders, pub companies and pub companies. This event is the brainchild of Tim Etchells, a former publican and SME London Managing Director. Pub16 is the second event that La Cimbali joins for this year.
This year's Pub16 is set to be the largest pub show in years. It will feature 24 seminars, 180 exhibitors and also thousands of operators under one roof.
Lincoln & York will be one of this year’s exhibitors. Lincoln & York is a leading commercial coffee roaster, specialists in sourcing, roasting and packing coffee.
